Any reason why a wheel won't go on all the way?

Swapping my OEM rims and winter tires on. No issue until I got to the right rear. For some reason, the rim won't go all the way down on the 5 lugs. It's like something is blocking the last 3/8th of an inch or so, but I can't see what. No issue with the OZ's going back on, but the factory rims won't.

Thoughts?

OZ's are hubcentric... if you got the right ones.

Check to see if the ring on the winter wheel has a ding on it. May have been dropped on something.

OZ's are hubcentric and fit perfectly. This is the OEM rim that won't fit. It's not the wheel, also tried another of the OEM rims that fits fine elsewhere on the car.

Going to slap on the spare and drive down the street to NTB tomorrow to see what's up.

put on one summer tire instead of the donut. It's way closer to a match to the other three than the donut.... and you can drive over 55 on it and it won't explode in your face.

I have OZ wheels, and they came with hub-centering rings (I think plastic, but I've also seen metal ones) that snap into the wheel for the precise size of your hub.

Unfortunately, they can also snap out, especially when they get stuck to the face of the hub -- and they're a little difficult to notice. Check to see that all four OZ wheels have their centering rings, then check the hub carefully. HPH

Hmm...I'll check, thanks.

*Edit* Yep, you're right! Now I just need to get the darn thing off....

*Edit x2* Problem solved, thanks! The ring was so oxidized I couldn't tell the difference between it and the hub. A little WD 40 and a wedge of the screwdriver w/ a hammer and it came off :)

thats what I meant in my first post....

Yeah, I never noticed they had a ring, it's basically pretty well worn into the rim and I never noticed it.

Both OZ sets I've had came with rings (both sets were from TireRack) -- 17" Superleggeras, which I had on an 05 STi (and on which I discovered this sticky ring business); and my current set of 18" Ultraleggeras. I think the Ultras have plastic rings and the Supers had metal ones. HPH

Mine are 17" Ultraleggera from TireRack (purchased in '07) and, as I discovered, have metal rings. But, as is evident with this thread I, without you guys telling me to look for them, I would never have noticed. They came pressed into the wheel from TR and after having been on the car for a bit, seem to wear into it somewhat.

Wheel weights hitting a caliper?

No, problem solved, it was me being an idiot and not realizing the rims had centering rings, one of them having come off and essentially fused onto the hub. WD-40 + screwdriver + hammer and it was solved.
