Tuned200 Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 As it says, im looking at a set of used wheels, they are 18x9 35mm with 235/40/18 tires. Not sure if they will work on the LGT or not and may considerthem for the forester XT, but who knows. Thanks. I did search and I read the faq above but I have no understanding of wheels/offsets.
RaGe Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 you would probably have to roll the fenders. As everyone told me, as long as you are ok with the added wear on the wheel bearings. But i am running a 17x7.5 ET36. fronts stick out abotu a 1/4 of an inch. the rears are flush with the fender. personally i would say if you are ok with them sticking out, hey. OTM. Sorry I didn't mean to start a war which mainly forum people is all about .

Are they the same wheels you had back when we swapped trunks? Im not sure if I want to go wit hthe 18x9 35mm but the price is good and they are my favorite wheels by rota(G-Force, steel grey) The tire also has me concerned, the 235/40/18...Man, im stumped Here they are on a 02 wrx slammed on coilovers http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii175/nmb1bacardi/IMG_0861.jpghttp://
RaGe Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 no, these are newer wheels. http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i171/Crucifix79/wheelsIII004.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i171/Crucifix79/wheelsIII005.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i171/Crucifix79/wheelsIII007.jpg thats alot of offset for a 9inch wheel though. But everyone told me i would rub etc, when i would run this setup as well. OTM. Sorry I didn't mean to start a war which mainly forum people is all about .
RaGe Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 on tein H techs. OTM. Sorry I didn't mean to start a war which mainly forum people is all about .
Tuned200 Posted October 30, 2008 Author Posted October 30, 2008 Hum.....I would hate to drop the hammer and they not fit the lgt. But I'm sure they would be fine on the forester. Dangit.
JonLGT Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I have 18x8 45 and I am flush in the front. There is no way to do it without rolling/pulling fenders.

Edit: I did nto see these were used and for a forester. But either way 18x8.5 is available.
Tuned200 Posted October 31, 2008 Author Posted October 31, 2008 Yea, I know they are avaiable in the correct offset new, im trying to cheap out a little and buy used.
BrownBoy Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 It's gonna be a tough one..but I'd like to see you try though. I want 9" wide wheels too.
Hanger Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 it's probably doable with -2, or -2.5 camber all around and roll fenders ○ ○ ○ Instagram: itshangertime :spin: ○ ○ ○
Xenonk Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 slammed? you called that slammed? that's not slammed.. you need to check out http://www.hellaflush.com and see really tucked cars. As for the fitment, if my guide say that it doesnt fit, it doesnt fit without modifications. You may catch up on reading my FAQ again. Go and look at your rim width, then look to see if your offset fall in the range I specify, it's that simple. If it does, then it should fit as long as you choose a tire that fits it properly.. if it isn't listed, keeping looking for other rims and save your money. Last thing you want to do is to shell out more money to replace a fender or wheel bearing or whatever else you may beat up just because you decided to be really budgeted on a set of Rotas.. Keefe
DrCloud Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 ...but I have no understanding of wheels/offsets. How about bolt patterns and hub size? It's a good idea to get (only) wheels that are right for your car. These 18s are not only two inches wider than stock wheels, but the offset puts them a half inch farther outboard. And you didn't say anything about the other specs that may also be wrong. Make sure to check everything carefully before investing -- and don't just assume that they'll fit your Forester, either. HPH

As for the fitment, if my guide say that it doesnt fit, it doesnt fit without modifications. Is this true? I know there are a few people who are running Exel TZ-10 in 18x7.5 and those are supposedly +35 offset. Looking at your sticky, this wheel should not fit. Yet there are at least 2-3 people on this forum using that wheel.
Hanger Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 nah, the TZ-10 aren't +35, i think they're somewhere around +43 range ○ ○ ○ Instagram: itshangertime :spin: ○ ○ ○
Basscadet Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 nah, the TZ-10 aren't +35, i think they're somewhere around +43 range Are you sure about that? Wheelmax's website indicates +35
