dbrunone Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 So I just changed out my brake fluid for my 30k maintenance. I used DOT3/4 Valvoline fully synthetic. It is AWESOME! The pedal is way more responsive, which I think gives me the illusion of more braking power. I dunno what OEM was, but this stuff rocks.
Guest Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 For starters, OEM was 30k miles old, that's the key difference.
Gary Bechtold Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 You should feel what it is like to change brakes around 47k. I'm very sure the fluid was original (I bought the car a year ago). I changed it to the Prospeed GS610. Between that and the Hawk HPS pads and OEM rotors my brakes have a very firm feel with no more mush. So yeah age of stuff, especially the fluid will skew the results greatly.
JoeFromPA Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 30k yes, but less than 2 years old. Not super old yet....good to hear the improvement with just a regular flush. I'm tired of the 2 person brake flush process...even though I've only ever done it once. I'm buying a vacuum flusher Joe
