non2os13 Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 My brother has a stock 05 LGT auto. He came to visit me this past weekend. He called me about an hour from my house and said that his car was having problems with bogging and misfiring under acceleration in third gear. When he got to my house, I plugged an obd2 scanner and pulled misfire codes for cylinder 1 and 3. I cleared them and reset the ecu. The problem seemed to go away. After about 15 minutes the problem returned. It did fine in first and second gear. In third gear the car was falling on it's face again. He left to go home Sunday and called me about an hour outside of town saying that the car wouldn't go over about 15 mph. I had the car towed back to town and gave him my truck to drive home in. Now I have the car sitting here running like hammered anus and not throwing any codes.(idles fine, won't do anything else though) I don't want to just start throwing parts at it and praying. I have searched and found similar problems but, none quite like this problem. The car is out of warranty.(not sure if i would let the clowns and trained circus monkeys a the local dealer do anything to it anyways) Any suggestions on what might be the problem?
dudeondacouch Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 What RPM is it idling at? Does it fall on it's face if revved in Neutral, or only when under load?

non2os13 Posted October 14, 2008 Author Posted October 14, 2008 well, it turns out that at least one of the problems was a clogged fuel filter/fuel pump. hopefully that is all that is wrong with it.
