psucaptainkickass Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 The real bilstein HDs have a metal ring that the spring sits on. However, that metal ring seems to attach to another, ring that is on the strut body. I can't get the rings to latch together, and I was wondering if this was the way it was supposed to be. I can just put the silver metal ring (spring seat?) down the strut shaft and it just sits on the ring that is on the strut body? I figure once I assemble the strut, static friction will keep it from moving, but as it is, under no load, it just spins and spins. Second, I scratched up the fronts assmbling them and want to touch the paint...and recommendations for the right type of yellow to get? Thanks.
ebpda9 Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 yeah, the lower perch on the rear shocks is supposed to be like that. i have no idea for the paint, but i would want to paint mine black. the dustboots are a bright blue and red springs, it gets quite colorful under the fender
rs6er Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Ion paints their springs the same color yellow. You might ask them.
