wiring issue after compustar installed?

i wasn't sure what forum section to put this under but since this forum is a little more electrical, i figure i'd put it here. if this needs to be moved...then i'm sure the moderators would move it to the appropriate forum

 

so..first off, i drive a 07 lgt..and did the foglight as DRL mod with the install of HID's. eventually i went and cut the DRL wire (for 07's) and was running with no DRLs and liked the fact that i could just turn on the fog lights whenever i pleased.

 

not too long ago, i got a compustar pro installed...during the times the car was started (with the handbrake down), i noticed that the fog lights were running...though the switch was in the off position.. i asked the installer a number of times if he had rejoined any cut wires (DRL wire) or tapped into any of the wires from the relays (foglight mod). answer was no and no.

 

so that night, in the dark, i took apart the relays and wiring for the foglight/DRL mod. i also rejoined the cut wire (from foglight/drl mod) .

started the car (hand brake down) and the fog lights were off. at this point..i'm wondering why the fog lights were on with the compustar install.

 

i just tried the "100% independent fog light mod", and that one didn't work either...the fog lights are on when i start the car even with the hand brake up...makes me wonder more why it is happening only after the compustar install

 

is there another way i can wire the fog lights to switch on when the lights are on the DRL setting? (and of course go off when i turn the car off)

 

any input is appreciated - sometimes i only need the fog lights (during the day) ~
