Transmission "buzz" when decelerating?

I have an 05 LGT with 132,000 miles. In June of 2007, I swapped in an ACT clutch and lightweight flywheel. I love the combo and have no driveability issues to complain about.

However, when I drove it away from the shop, I noticed that if I took my foot off the "go faster" pedal, there was a sharp "buzz" that quickly went away. After an number of months, it got louder and started lasting longer. It's gotten to the point that I barely do any engine braking at all, because if the clutch is engaged and I'm decelerating, there's a harsh buzzing noise.

The shop owner has taken a couple of rides with me, and he's confident that the noise is coming from the transmission, although we can't localize it. His theory is that the dual mass flywheel was masking it before, and now that I have the ACT lightweight "non-dual mass" flywheel, it's allowing that particular piece of Noise-Vibration-Harshness to become apparent.

Has anybody else had any kind of transmission noise when they're decelerating with the clutch engaged?

Another possible clue in the chain: After the clutch swapout in June of '07, I needed a new throwout bearing in September '07. It's started chirping again, so time for a new throwout bearing. Any ideas what gives? Is it more likely to be something loose in the tranny that's making noise and ruining throwout bearings, or shoddy workmanship?

Thanks!

Rony, Have you done a clutch/flywheel swap? If the guy at my shop is right, switching to an '06 WRX dual-mass flywheel might get rid of the noise... So that's what I'm considering.
