EvilCamaroSS Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 is anyone running this? I want to go stage 2 but i am afraid of being loud. anyone have a sound clip of this maybe or can attest to the level of noise?
dmp Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I'll have that set up shortly - have the parts; just need to install. SOLD | '06 spec.B - VF52/AVO/740cc/Up/Down | 238awhp | 50-80mph 3.1 seconds.
kevkel33leg05 Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Heres a little video just to give you an idea. Im giving it a little gas in the begining so i could hear what my car sounds like from the outside. Hks catless up x02 catless dp stock catback. It might sound loud but inside the car its nothing at all. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/stage-2-legacy-gt-fmic-by_174993.htm I try to get a better one or one from inside the car if you want.
rurouni_x Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 i have that set up with the resonator delete as well and its not that loud. I think when i had the Hogzaust it was louderz
CypherMax Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 i have that set up and the only real noise difference i noticed is its a little more throaty when revving. while accelerating not much difference cept for the insane turbo spool..sounds like a dump truck but i love it!
dmp Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 There's very little noise difference, windows up. The exhaust note has a bit more bass; otherwise, it's fine. ..and I'm OLD. SOLD | '06 spec.B - VF52/AVO/740cc/Up/Down | 238awhp | 50-80mph 3.1 seconds.

Outside with the stock catback you won't notice a real increase in noise.
Gire Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 +1 With a new DP you can hear the engine more from the cabin. Outside with the stock catback you won't notice a real increase in noise. +1 My catless UP and shorty DP with stock cans sounds darn near stock but with much more engine / turbo noise. Perfect, IMO.
EvilCamaroSS Posted October 28, 2008 Author Posted October 28, 2008 I can run the Stage 2 tune in my AP without a catback and just uppipe and downpipe right?
g2redgsr Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 you wont be loud i have sti up and gutted dp and hogzaust and its still not that loud...

goneskiian Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Technically you don't even need to replace the UP. It's just a good idea in case the cat in the stock UP decides to break up and eat your turbo. Cheers!
km580 Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Check this link out. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98444 Fat people are hard to kidnap!!!
spatuality Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 I just put on a gutted stock UP and crucial racing DWG DP (shorty pipe). With the windows up, the engine noise is a bit louder at idle, and very noticably louder at highway speeds. The turbo spool and wastegate noise is also now audiable, whereas when stock I could barely hear the wastegate and the spool was for all purposes inaudiable. With the windows down at idle, the engine noise is louder, and the spool and wastegate are now clearly audiable. At WOT through the peak boost ranges (between 2800-4500 on my stage 1 map, still not updated for stage 2) spool and wastegate are surprisingly loud for having stock everything-else (turbo, midpipe and cans).
