Radio buttons located on the steering wheel question

Maybe a stupid question.

When you hit the up and down tuning button on the steering wheel is it meant to go the pre set stations you have set in, or is it meant to seek/scan for a station.

In the 09 Forester it goes to the pre set stations, and doesn’t scan/seek for a radio station like my GT does.

My car does the Scan/Seek when I use those buttons. It sounds like they changed the functions for the new Forrester (and possibly other cars too). I've seen people complain that the buttons don't scroll through the pre-sets, so maybe Subaru was listening and changed it.
