croll326 Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 My HID kit from Xenon Expert is acting up. The passenger side wont light up all the time. I have the battery harness and turning the light off and on again doesnt work. They have worked fine for a few months before this has started. Sometimes when i squeeze the connections from the light to the ballast and or the connection between the ballast and the harness they turn on but it seems that they come loose after driving. Since they turn on when messed with i don think its the bulb....maybe its the ballast becuase the same fix doesnt work everytime. its one connection or the other...not always the same one. help me please.....
FASTONE Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 ok, i have that exact issue, try swapping the bulbs, then the ballast, find whats causing this, i think on mine (i have 55W kit) battery does not give enought voltage, its prolly not the bulb, most likly ballast or battery, after swapping bulbs, same left side does not come on, i will swap ballast and will report back.
urs1ne Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I had a bulb actually crack on me, Im actually in the process of buying a new pair of bulbs from $60 from them. ^ n00bs below this line
johnAWD Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 There's a lifetime warranty on the bulbs, isn't there? There is on my DDM kit.
croll326 Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 ya but its hard to get a hold of xenon expert
urs1ne Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I spent 4 months emailing them once a week without response until I finally got a PM from Oliver on here and he said a cracked bulb isnt covered. I bought new ones to hold me over while I send mine back to Apexcone to see if they will cover them. And they did not break because of anything I did so Im already pissed off and just trying to get HIDs in my car again, at least $60 for bulbs isnt much more than PIAAs or seomthing, but considering I've only had these about a year I am not very happy. Next time I will heed the advise of others and do the 330RX retrofit and do it right instead of dealing with all this again. I actually already have a spare set of headlights I am starting to prepare for the project. ^ n00bs below this line
urs1ne Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Got my new 5000k bulbs, man it sucks not having HIDs! IMHO 5000k > 6000k ^ n00bs below this line
croll326 Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 I unhooked the battery harness to the side that didnt work. It works fine without the harness! Now I am trying to get resolution from Xenon Expert. Wish me luck.

urs1ne Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 And to clarify, Xenon Expert has great stuff and very good prices, and they have good service when you buy something I was just a little bummed with their customer support after I needed help when that something broke. The broken bulb is not an issue with them but with Apexcone and Xenon Expert was offering to sell me the bulbs to get my HIDs back while I wait for the broken ones to go back to Apexcone for warranty. I will definitely buy from these guys again, when its time to get D2S bulbs for the RX330 conversion. ^ n00bs below this line
