Does this look like an STi shifter lever?

Hey guys and gals.

Judging by these pics, do you think this '05 LGT shifter is the STi kit? To myself and a few other folks, it looks pretty low. The current owner pulled the boot down and said the shifter arm is brass-colored, which at least on the 5MT Impreza kits, would mean STi. I'm not sure if the 5MT Legacy kits are the same color.

Thanks. I'm likely buying this car very soon ('05 SWP), and was just curious about the trim. I emailed SoA and they sent me a list of equipment that car was equipped with:

SUBWOOFER/AMPLIFIER

CENTER ARMREST EXTENSION

Sedan Splash Guard Set

Spoiler - White

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE LABEL

FLOORMATS, CARPETED OFF BLACK

05 LEGACY OIK

05 LEGACY ORG

AUTO-DIMMING MIRROR/COMPASS

SECURITY SYS. PERIMETER ALARM

Which is very cool... The shifter isn't listed, so it could be dealer-installed. Or it might be a generic aftermarket one.

Anyway, long story short if it's an off brand I'll eventually rip it out and put a Kartboy in. :) Thanks,

STi shifter linkage doesn't shorten the stalk. So that's either been modified or it has a different SS kit.

^^ Didn't think so. I did a little searchin' in here and a few people said something similar. The Imprezas are about the same.

Just took some pics of it. It's definitely not STi, the shifter arm is black. Note the nut on the bottom of the arm, is that normal? Maybe a cut OEM shifter?

That looks very short. id imagine it is an ebay type short shift lever. The stock lever has ZERO notchiness, does this one have any (everyone i have tried is notchy as hell).

I just pulled the whole section apart and there was indeed a nut on the threaded portion, which could be loosened to back the threaded portion out (adding height). So it's a little taller now, but still rather notchy.

Oh well, I will indeed replace it, but that answers the question for now. Thanks guys and gals. :D

Could it be a SPT short shifter with linkage that Subaru sells for $249

I have one in my WRX that came on the car from the factory. It is listed as an options on my window sticker. SPT sells this for the Legacy as well for the same price.

No. SPT shifter is non-adjustable, and also has a brass-colored lever. Or at least they were brass for the 5MT, before.
