Moparfans Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Hi I've searched around the net and nothing confirm me where is the ECU on a 1992 Subaru Legacy L AWD ( Non-Turbo ) ! I want to know where is the ECU to check the Ground, they might be damaged because, i get like 8 Differents Engine Codes and the motor is running well ! If you know how to erased them so after I can check which one is staying ON will help me too ! Thank's Moparfans
Bdubs Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Its under the dash on the driver's side. Take that kickpanel off, the piece that has that "tray" contraption. Its a gold looking box. Also, a great, fast way to reset the ECU other than unplugging the negative battery terminal for a long time is to plug in the 2 sets of connectors also under the kickpanel of the driver's side dash. One black set, and one yellow set. Connect these with the car off, then start the car up after you've connected both. The Engine light should be flashing like crazy, or cycling through the trouble codes. Drive the car for about 3-4 minutes going one consistent speed over 15 mph, and you should start getting one steady Engine light blinking over and over. That means the ecu is reset. Park the car, turn it off, and unplug both sets of connectors. To see if any codes come back, run the car for a while normally, then plug in the black connectors to see if it has worked.
Moparfans Posted September 20, 2008 Author Posted September 20, 2008 Denied Okay.., There's a Green Set of Connector near the ECU, and 2 Black Set on the right one small and one bigger, I tried connecting some of them and all of them while driving the car and nothing saying Code 35 while driving .. unplug recheck still all the same codes.. something is wrong because.. the car is running well so ! I wonder if they are just not saved by the computer in memory ! So How to know Wich one is the current Check Engine Code ! Wich one I need to Plug in and Unplug or whatever.. HELP ! How do I remove the Ecu from there it's all Crowded of Wire everywhere around ! I want to find the Ground.. maybe a bad ground may occur that !
