RShaw Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Im to broke to buy a legit exhaust so i did the hogzuast mod a few months ago. It sounds pretty good for what it is. But I got bored, figured i'd take the resonator out of my stock exhaust. It sounded horrible so i put the resonator back in. My question is, if i was to get an aftermarket mid/y pipe would it not sound just as horrible with the stock mufflers? most aftermarket mid pipes don't have resonators do they?
RdiggA Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 magnaflow doesnt have a resonator if i remember correctly, just mufflers and people love the sounds it gives off. I personally have never heard it in person.

Mr. Ed Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 it is also using a much better design in the mufflers than the stock set up
RShaw Posted September 15, 2008 Author Posted September 15, 2008 well i was just thinking about the people who go aftermarket mid with stock mufflers. I know full aftermarket set ups sound nice.
Legacy_GT_Pilot Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I have the X02 mid and Y-pipes with stock exhaust and it sounds like shiet at idle. When I'm driving it's not bad, but when I start up my car in the morning I'm embarrased! The X02 mid-pipe has a crappy resonator as well. I'm considering having a better one welded in to see if it helps (maybe even the stock resonator). Dave
