Need HELP !!! with moms car

Hey all, new to the forum and need some help. My mothers 1989 Subaru legacy will just die when going down the road:mad:, after stopping it will start back up. I have heard that it might be the fuel pressure regulator or maybe just a vacuum line, i am not sure where the regulator is lacated so i need your help. Also, if somebody has a manual i can download, that would be really cool. Thanks in advance

Are you located in the US? They didn't start selling the Legacy in the US until 90.

Yes, i am in the US, she said it is an 89, but maybe it is a 90, not sure, can you help ??

Sounds like fuel/air. Or your tank is empty

I agree. Check the air and fuel filters. If the engine can't breath, it can't run. Especially under acceleration.

it runs fine, but once in awhile you will be going down the road and it will just die, or sometimes when going around a corner

check the oxygen sensors - sometimes the cars stall when the sensors are not functioning properly. Used to happen on my 97' grand prix.

Sounds like a fuel problem to me. Just going down the road and stalling is usually from fuel cut.

Ya, i pretty much assume it is a fuel related issue, does anybody know where the fuel pressure regulator is located ??
