Patrik Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Is the extra price worth it to get the weather tech floor liners vs. the all weather mats? Do you know of a rubber lining/ cover to protect the cargo area (where the wheels are covered)? I just have the floor mat, but the sides and the back seat are exposed. Thanks
Bimmer Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Yes, it's worth it. The Subaru mats suck. The WeatherTechs are great. I don't know of anything that covers the sides of the cargo area... Ben
semenov Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 There's a rubber trunk mat with ledges, a bit more protective than a typical floor mat.
Mr. Sinister Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 There's a rubber trunk mat with ledges, a bit more protective than a typical floor mat. Is that specifically for the 05+ Legacys? If it is, how much does it cost (and from where)? Thanks.
Siper2 Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Get the WeatherTechs. Subaru's mats are lower-quality rubber that gets stiff as a brick in the winter. The mats then slide all over the place. WeatherTechs rule. For 2005+ Legacies, they're also custom-fit. For my wife's 2001, they sent a generic front set, that we had to trim. Not a big deal or anything, but still... Hers look good though: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/Siper2/Subaru%20Outback%20LL%20Bean/OfficeAnnointing017.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/Siper2/Subaru%20Outback%20LL%20Bean/OfficeAnnointing018.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/Siper2/Subaru%20Outback%20LL%20Bean/OfficeAnnointing016.jpg
Skater Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 +1 on the WeatherTechs! They're great. I got the form fitting ones for the front.
Siper2 Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 ^^ Those are the "trays" ... the mats themselves are also custom-fit. Here: http://www.weathertech.com/images/items/vehicles/w52b_Legacy_0713751.jpg http://www.weathertech.com/store/mvproduct.aspx?ItemGroupId=3&VehId=618&Year=2005

This is for Legacy BP/BL, which are 03+ JDM and 05+ USDM. This particular one was sold in Japan for $64: http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n69151120 I'm sure they should be selling them in US, too. Siper2 WeatherTechs look totally cool. Wish they made them custom-fit for JDM...

We can't get them at the dealer and the cost of shipping from one of the vendors here ends up being more than the cost of the mat itself. Thanks for the info though.

Siper2 Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 WeatherTechs look totally cool. Wish they made them custom-fit for JDM... Email them; they may be able to do a flipped pattern for you.
Gmoe Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I've had no problems with my OEM Suby all weather mats. Not sure where the problems are.
Mr. Sinister Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I've had no problems with my OEM Suby all weather mats. Not sure where the problems are. I've had both in my hands. The WeatherTech liners are superior and the price reflects it.
Siper2 Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I've had no problems with my OEM Suby all weather mats. Not sure where the problems are. Perhaps Subaru stepped up the rubber quality, then. You'd have noticed, being in Rochester. Then again, the LGT does have the stay-put pin on the floor, to hold the mat in place somewhat. Subaru's mats are lower-quality rubber that gets stiff as a brick in the winter. The mats then slide all over the place.
