Drift Monkey
Some one needs to run open downpipe, just to hear what it sounds like (mind you I wouldn't drive around like that, I just want to compare the sounds the equal length makes). It always sounded mean on the WRX...but for the Legacy, who knows?
Guest *Jedimaster*
I' think it would sound even meaner with the extra half a liter of displacement.
Drift Monkey
But the headers DO make a difference.
gtguy
It's funny, because as a 42-year-old coot of the board who tried all kinds of exhausts on his Legacy GT and WRX (Cobb, Stromung, custom, Prodrive), I'm glad the Legacy is going to be quiet. First, it's nicer to drive a quiet car for long distances and second, a quiet car gives the impression of quality, which will help perceptions and sales of the car. I will miss that boxer burble, and the deep tone of even the stock WRX exhaust, but not as much as I will enjoy the sounds of silence. Kevin
