I had both problems:

1) couldn't connect: I had to turn completely close out of learning view, plug in my tactrix cable, start the car, and then open learning view.

2) couldn't initialize: You need to download Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 (http://tinyurl.com/758p8)

Good luck!

Ok, now I can't connect to LV, RR, Ecuflash...

I have been having these problems. When I tried to download msft .net frame..2.0 I get an error saying that "set up could not continue because .net framework is incompatible with a previously installed one". Could this be my problem?

I was able to connect to the ecu with my tactrix cable a couple of times but that is it. I am having a terrible time trying to figure out why I can't connect again. Seems like hit or miss (mostly miss) whenever I try..

Update, I thought open port 2.0 was not on a COM? But, I can see my open port on COM 5 as working properly. I did select COM5 when trying RR and LV, but still no connection. I don't know if it's helpful or not but here is what happens when I try LV:

I'm not sure about the .net error but Ecuflash and RR have nothing to do with .net so it would not cause any problems there and if .net 2.0 wasn't installed properly, LV wouldn't even run.

For the OP 2.0, the com port selection in LV is irrelevant. From that log, everything is working properly on LV's end - you are just not receiving a response from the ECU. That is the same log you would expect if the obdii end of the cable was not connected securely, your ignition is off, or there's some issue with your obdii port or wiring. I can't rule out an issue with the OP 2.0 drivers - you said earlier that you were trying to get an ecutek cable to work. Make sure to uninstall any drivers that you installed for that cable. Did your OP 2.0 ever work with Ecuflash/RR/LV? If so, what changed between then and now.

I am hoping its a driver issue because I can't see what else it would be, even though it shows up under Ports and says the device is working properly and has the most recent drivers.

I am going to follow the conflicting drivers FAQ solution on RR site and see if it works or not. Funny thing is nothing really changed between working and not working that I recall except for maybe disconnecting the cable from the ECU and then trying to reconnect later.

Update - I followed directions from RR site to uninstall and reinstall the programs and drivers (which I thought I already had done, but apparently not exactly like the directions call for). I was able to connect, log, flash and run LV.

So, it seems I am past a hurdle. However, I did have to fiddle with the dongle and usb cable a quite a bit before RR connected with the ECU (the same thing did not help until I did the above). So, I think I also have a loose connection of some sorts where the tactrix 2.0 cable plugs into the OBD2 connector.

It would be a good idea to do a test write before every reflash in that case.

It's probably a good idea to do it every time anyway (I do, every time), but especially if your connection is at all unreliable.

You are 100 percent correct. I did, and will continue to do so.
