08-R
I have spent the last 30 minutes or so searching the threads to hopefully answer my question, but I've had no luck. Sorry if I'm repeating a previous post, but here it goes. I just recently bought a 2008 Legacy 3.0R for my wife and was wondering if the only way to receive Sirius satelite radio through the stock system is to go through the dealer ($398 plus install)? I can't find an aftermarket satelite receiver and antenna that will work through the stock system and I don't want a plug and play device through an FM transmitter. I actually thought when I purchased the vehicle, that the receiver and antenna would be pre-wired and all I would have to do is activate it. Apparently not. Any advice? cschnider
I don't think you are going to find an aftermarket reveiver that is going to tie into the display of the factory cd player if that is what you are trying to do. I think the only way you are going to be able to do that is with the factory unit. You could mount an aftermarket unit and wire it to the aux input in the armrest. That would be much better than an FM transmitter but you'd still have to use another display.
