G.T.Subie
Looking to get a price on a mid & y-pipe made. Does anyone know of a exhaust shop in NNJ area Denial is your best friend
MonkeyHermit
I'll be heading over to Custom Muffler in Livingston, NJ this Friday. They're located on Rt. 10 near the Livingston circle. It's a bit of a far drive from where we are, but I've heard good things about them. I'll let you know how they do. They carry some Magnaflow items, have SS as well as aluminized piping. They also have most of the required mendrel bent pieces on hand but it would be better to go in so they can look at the setup first and order any pieces they think they will need. MonkeyHermit
Great! I work a couple of miles from there in Millburn. Let me know how it goes, what are getting done? That would be very convenient for you then, just drop it off and pick it up same day. I'm getting the NA Borla UEL headers put in along with an RT dual HFC that will need modification. They will have to cut the cat near the flange and extend it about 3-4 inches to mate up to the stock CB flange on the 2.5i. Then I'm getting the stock "pancake" res swapped out for a perforated core Magnaflow res. In summary, going to get me some rumble action
korpsepatrol
Finally! I am sure that is gonna be a bad ass sounding 2.5i after all is said and done. 2008 6mt Legacy Gt Spec B DGM - Not so Stock/Work in progress 2006 5mt Legacy Gt OBP - Sold 2005 5eat Legacy Gt OBP - RIP R.I.P Coxx

G.T.Subie
I went to Custom Muffler very nice guys but they were honest and told me I would just be better of buying something that is factory made. Denial is your best friend
MonkeyHermit
I went to Custom Muffler very nice guys but they were honest and told me I would just be better of buying something that is factory made. It would cost more than buying a pre-made setup I guess? Check out the Perrin Mid & Y, from what I hear a lot of people like it. Just ask whitetiger
whitetiger
Perrin mid/y + stock mufflers is very very quiet. I have perrin mid/y with prodrive cans and i love he sound. no drone, and quiet unless i get on it, then its a nice tone, not too lound.
G.T.Subie
My cocern is the perrin would be too loud with xo2 mufflers i have Denial is your best friend
whitetiger
I dont think it would be. the perrin mid/y comes with a resonator. i though my setup would be loud too, but it ended up being pretty quiet for a catless exhaust with headders and no restrictions. its a worthwhile risk buyng the mid/y pipe. if you dont like it, it can be sold for nearly the cost of purchase. G.T.Subie
True and the guys at Custom Muffler said if I got something that was too loud they could easily put in a different resinator. I still have my 3rd cat too. Denial is your best friend

korpsepatrol
I still have my 3rd cat too. Lame! j/k you have a shorty dp then? Or gutted? You could always just buy a new x02 for 299 and use the mid and y and sell the cans so you would end up like me, 125 for a 3inch mid and y! 2008 6mt Legacy Gt Spec B DGM - Not so Stock/Work in progress 2006 5mt Legacy Gt OBP - Sold 2005 5eat Legacy Gt OBP - RIP R.I.P Coxx
G.T.Subie
I have a Crucial shorty. I also have the Xo2 cans already and from the fitment of the cans I don't want to deal with the whole CB from them. Is that thing resonated Denial is your best friend
MonkeyHermit
Got my work down yesterday at Custom Muffler. They were no bull$hit guys so they were very honest with me and what would cost me less. The welds were done using MIG, not TIG. Even so, they look strong and sturdy enough. Will try to get some pics up, but my main computer bit the dust yesterday so will have to see when and what I can do. Sound is awesome
