mlwarriner Posted May 21, 2008 Share Posted May 21, 2008 OK, just picked up a 95 Legacy wagon, 5-speed manual trans. The shifter feels awfully sloppy when going through the gears. Like something might be loose or worn out inside there. What can be done (short of replacing the shifter) to fix this? Adjustments to be made perhaps? Please and thanks. ehsnils Posted May 21, 2008 Share Posted May 21, 2008 Probably some bushings that are worn on the linkage outside the gearbox. Annoying but not serious. Just see if you can get replacement bushings and then do the hard work of dismounting the stick and linkage and mount the new bushings. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
