Well, I test drove the 2008 Legacy GT Spec.B yesterday. I really enjoyed the car a lot. Didnt get to push it all the hard but from what I saw im defanatly purchasing one. I must say, I really do love the transmission in it. Anyways, I'm waiting for the buyer of my GTI to get his loan approved then im off with the Subi. The one thing I will REALLY miss from the GTI is the torque,. The subi just doesnt have that pulling power of the GTI. Granted my GTI was pretty modded and this is a stock subaru (for now.) Ill keep you guys posted as to when i get it.

Don't worry the LGT has a good amount of torque once its tuned a little bit. After you break the car in a little bit order a AP so you can flash it to stage 1. That should make you happy, if not do a downpipe and stage II always makes you smile.

torque? stage 2 alone will get you 422 torques, please

??? Please explain, I dont see how a stage 2 can possibly put those numbers down, not even too the crank. Im uneducated when it comes to modding Subarus, so please, fill me in. I checked Cobb tunings website and they claim a stage 2 is good for roughtly 55hp and 95lb/tq.... I dont see how that equates to 422? So thats roughtly 300HP and 345tq?

do headers and full turbo back + tune, you will get 360hp and 422 torque on 91 gas. I would also recommend upgrading the Intercooler. All of this can be done for ~$2k

I am gonna miss having leveling Bi-Xenons, you would figure Subaru would put them on a car of this class. I mean my $25,000 GTI had them from the factory.

who's turbo back?

turbo back is basically all exhaust pipes right after the turbo: downpipe, midpipe + exhaust cans

RJ, if I may ask, why are you getting rid of the GTI and how has the ownership experience been with it? The reason I ask is because it's one of the cars I am considering getting, along with the Spec B. I test drove one with the DSG and absolutely loved it but hearing about issues with rattles and ac failures are giving me pause. I then test drove the Spec B, which is also fantastic but I prefer the interior and styling of the GTI. That said, I think the Spec B would be a wiser choice in the long term.

I've never heard anyone complain about the torque in these cars. So sudden, so strong. It's what keeps this car in my garage.

Pretty sure that's downright impossible with the stock turbo..

Exactly... $25000 for a Golf. I BETTER be getting all those high priced fancy gadgets if I'm paying that amount for a Golf.

:lol::lol::lol:

He probably has the Spec B. Spec B is special like that. That's why the Spec B is so much better than the GT... :p

Yea, the GTI is a "golf" or "rabbit" essentially if we get technical here. Completely hoped up though. But if you have ever driven one, 25k is clearly a justifiable price for one.
