Ravi Kumar Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Hi all, I drive a 2007 2.5GT with manual transmission and the car has 2000km's on the clock. The car was purchased a month ago and had a peculiar noise emanating from the gear lever on the inside when accelerating to 5000rpm. The gear lever seems a tad bit loose and it sounds like a whine. The dealers are dazzled by this saying that they have never experienced this with a LGT before. They will have a 'technical expert' evaluate the car within the next few days. In the meantime they are speculating saying that maybe the flywheel and clutch need re-balancing or there may be an alignment issue etc. My argument with them is that it is a brand new car and that this shouldn't be a trial and error scenario. Assuming this is not an easy problem to fix, what grounds do i have to insist that they issue me with a new car? The last thing i want is for the car to be sent back and forth to subaru and the problem not getting fixed. Any thoughts from anyone? By the way i reside in South Africa. Thanks
