STi Genome exhaust installed on 07 Outback 3.0R

I just installed a pair of STi Genome exhaust cans (used from Japan).

These were originally for B4 Sedans so its a little short, but the wagon version sticks out too much for my taste so I picked the sedan version which tucks in for a more understated look.

The sound of it reminds me of a BMW inline 6 with exhaust. Smooth and deep. I kinda expected it will sound like a Harley but I guess the sound of the H6 differs a lot from H4.

With custom-fabricated silencer installed.

The wagon version looks weird to me (see the bottom picture) , so I will stick with the mine :D

The stock exhaust is also just as short anyway.

Japan

Okay so how would I get a pair here in the US? Especially in NH?! Not like there's all kinds of import companies over here!....... Still That would be sick if I could get a set to use for my exhaust along with my EZ30R swapping GF.!

  • 2 weeks later...

Iv heard the Genome exhaust once, and it sounded fantastic on the turbo'd engine.

Cant say i know what it sounds like on the 3.0H6. But something about them always made me dislike them a tad bit, and i think ive narrowed it down to the writing "Sti Genome". I dont like having Pink on my exhaust, no pun intended, and no offense to anyone, i dont like how other exhaust makers put their labels on the tips either. its just alil too much like "flair".

DC Sport?

It was HUGE 10-15 years ago when Honcuras ruled the import scene.

I guess they have diversified their product line over the years.

Their products were generally had good quality and fair prices.

I'm not digging the look, but I admire your effort.

The engine actually feels more responsive in normal driving with them on so I am not taking them off.

I might paint them flat black though.

What is the size of the inlet where the cans meet the y-pipe?

Around 2 inches, bigger than stock Y pipe. But there are reducers right after the flange on the STi cans to shrink the exhaust inlet down to around 1.5 inch to increase back pressure.
