RedHorizon
Hi everyone, I installed the Cobb AP yesterday and I’m please with it. My question is though; for those of you who installed it did your car not want start the first few times after installing it initially. I followed the steps and installed the stage one and once everything finished it told me to disconnect from test mode turn the ignition off. I did this and when I went to start the car it would not turn over the first 2 tries. I waited a few seconds and tried again and it started. The same thing happened after I changed the map to anti theft mode and then restored the ecu; again after waiting 10sec like it said I tried to start it twice and on the third try it started. Other than that it works fine. Thanks
psucaptainkickass
It happens...this is common.
ShadowImg
Yeah, expect every time you reset the ECU for the car to not start the first time. Not sure why exactly, but it's quite normal, and applies to all Subarus, even without the AP.

psucaptainkickass
Well..this actually hasn't happened for me. I wait until the open ceremony completes..then turn the key. I was just stating that a lot of people here have the same issue, and it isn't really an issue since it kinda is supposed to happen.
eqt2010
After each ECU reset, the first time you turn on the ignition ECU will initialize something in the first 10 sec. Wait for 10 sec and then you are good to go.

executor485
The reason for this is the RFID chip in the key as part of the car's anti-theft system. The computer has to talk to the key and verify codes, etc to make sure that everything is kosher If I pass you on the right, I'm flipping you off.
