basmoq
Well, I decided that the big box in the trunk was a bit dangerous with the kids in the back seat, being that it could turn into quite the projectile, so I did a little glass work and came up with this. I copied JL audio's mounting method by downloading their spec sheet. There is a bolt on the inside of the box that runs up towards the tail light and into an internal frame member. The great part is when I sell the car, I can yank this and no one will ever see the hole without looking for it. No projectile box and trunk space galore! You can't tell very easily from this pic, but the sub is actually inset 3/4. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a165/basmoq/Subaru/0502081558.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a165/basmoq/Subaru/0502081503a.jpg
ItalynStylion
VERY nice work.....I gotta learn how to fiberglass. I'm an animal with MDF but fiberglass is foreign territory for me right now.

str8dwn
And I'll bet it doesn't sound like crap like my JL one does. Kudos to you!
basmoq
your JL sounds like crap? heck, I would have bought one if I had that kind of money, heck of a lot easier than building my own. Guess it was a good thing I didn't. I believe they use a shallow mount sub in that box, may explain why it sounds bad... I'm using a full range RF HE SVC 10" that I've had for years and it really thumps in this box.
