please explain to me how a roof scoop could ever be functional on a front engine car...

when your racing in the hot weather and dont want to run your AC, or you are really racing and you removed your AC to save weight, and you want more air into your car without having to open the windows... I belive a lot of the rally cars have roof scoops for cabin air

Yep totally kidding Ive never seen that before dont know where I could have come up with that one

wow. your definition of functional is much different than mine.

well thats what their fuction is, an air vent. But some people have them for looks which is retarted. But a lot of rally cars have them and I find it highly unlikely professional rally drivers have them just for looks, there must be a reasonable use for them or the rally cars wouldnt bother putting them on their cars...

bottom of this page they say:

http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/news/category/project-cars/c-project-cars/1995-subaru-impreza-rallycrosser/page/2/

"We installed a roof vent and scoop last night, painting the scoop yellow to match our car’s stripes. The vent is not only for ventilation, it also pressurizes the interior of the car to keep dust out during gravel stages. Oh, and it looks bad-ass."

i gotcha... i'm just saying if i've got a race car of any sort, i'm not going to add drag to keep myself cool. in rally racing its a bit different since speeds are relatively low and races are long meaning the cost/benefit is quite a bit higher

but its especially worthless on a street car

oh yeah I couldnt agree more on a daily driver its useless. But from the article i read the Spec.C is supposed to be a stripped version that would be marketed towards people buying one to set up as a race vehicle of some sort even if it also does street duty,

i would bet you a lot of the ones on street cars arent even functional its a lot easier to 3m adhesive a scoop to your roof than to cut a hole in the roof and install a vent that doesnt leak when closed
