mars_volta
hello, im a long time saturn driver and modifier looking to move up to a 05 LGT ltd. with black interior and a manual. i live in minneapolis. 2 weeks ago i drove a 05 LGT limited with 66k miles. nice car but it needed brakes badly, and has some rock chips on the hood. the service was going to be done to bring the brakes into shape. they want $17,990. I offered $16k or 17,200 after t & l. he countered with $18,200 out the door. i i know its out of warranty and 17,9 more than its worth or i want to spend. ive got about $4k to put down. i told him id think on it and let him stew a bit. i keep tabs on the website and its still for sale. what do you guys think its worth? Guest
way too much money for a high mileage car besides I would not touch an LGT outside powertrain warranty without knowing full details of service history and having the engine checked for compression/leakdown and screen oil filters stay away regardless of price

mars_volta
Wow.. Mars Volta from Saturnfans? I'm applefool over on Saturnfans.. I just traded in my last Saturn for a Subaru! LOL small world! nice to see you again. yep, time for something newer. the turbo sl2 is still going strong and the sc2 has 266k. im selling the sw2 this weekend and probably part out the turbo soon. there are a few things about the LGT ltd worry me over a LGT or wrx. no option to change the stereo really bothers me, havent heard good things about the climate control, and the gas mileage. but, there are many positives that keep me coming back. and it seems like you get one hell of a car for > $20k. see ya round! Guest heightsgtltd
FYI, it's only with the NA 2.5i that you can swap out the stereo..
mars_volta
i did see the highline kit. it looks like $900? so be it. at least theres an option or will be soon. http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74919
Guest heightsgtltd
The highline kit is for the LGT regardless of trim level. The trim level went away after 05 or 06 anyway IIRC. My point was the 2.5i has an EASILY swappable stereo that is not on the same circuit board as the HVAC system, and has ready made inexpensive panels to swawp
mars_volta
drove a 05 LGT auto today. sti IC, rims, momo shifter, and big exhaust. 38k miles they want $14,700. sti grill zip tied on WTF? lol otherwise nice car.
rtbrjason
Wow an auto huh? I just made that mistake. This car is not meant to have an auto imo. I've got an 08 5spd lgt coming to replace the 07 automatic lgt I just bought. Going to miss the nav in the auto, but not as much as I'm not going to miss the auto. Guest heightsgtltd
The auto is just fine as long as you know how to drive it right. It's not a V8, so you can't just stomp on the pedal.
