Erickson00
I have an Alpine IVA-D310 installed in the cubby. It powers the rear door speakers on its own, but I have two amplifiers powering the components up front and the subs in the trunk. The problem: The volume maxes out at 20 on the headunit (even though it shows that it goes up to 35), and I know I still have room to go from the amps. I can keep turning the volume knob past 20 and it doesn't get any louder. It's sometimes not loud enough at 20, depending on what I'm listening to (I like it loud!). If I turn the amps up, they sometimes clip. I have 100 watts RMS to each component, and 350-400 watts RMS to the subs. So the question is, why does the volume stop getting louder at 20, and not go all the way until 35? I have located no special setting that allows me to mess with this. If 20 is the max, why do they even have 21 through 35?
MaStaMooN
Do alpines have volume limiters.. like ipods and other devices? where you can kinda set the max volume allowed. Jon - vBGarage Profile
Erickson00
I have searched the (thick) operations manual and browsed all the menus on the HU itself, and it doesn't appear to have that kind of feature.
MaStaMooN
id call Alpine directly... if the unit only goes up to 20, but really should go to 35, sounds like something is mechanically wrong... either hardware or firmware.
