ScoobySTi07
I don't find self-leveling rear suspension on USDM Outback....or its also standard? We can't get it. They don't offer it here not even as an option or part of a trim line. The Ridiculousness is no more But you can have your very own piece of it. **The Ridiculous Part Out.**

sdvictor
Dang it! 60k! My parents are moving to Taiwan in a couple of years. They currently live in Shanghai, but grew up in Taiwan and lived there in 99-05; and are currently there 1 week a month. They were wanting something small, so I was recommending the Impreza or Legacy to them. But 60k! Man, it's still nicer than their POS Shanghai GM Buick GL8 Minivan. Rockin' the van! http://www.buick.com.cn/gallery/images/mu/800_600/buick08_800.jpg BTW, where in TPE do you live? My parents used to live close to NTU, but are now thinking Neihu or Tienmu
pachilla
I live in Xinyi, near Taipei City Hall and Taipei 101, across the river from Neihu. Between Tienmu and Neihu, I like Neihu better. That is Neihu in the background BTW http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/8794/buddy5sv4.jpg http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/8867/buddy4ds6.jpg http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/5287/buddy3ao6.jpg

Does anyone know why USDM Subarus don't offer self-leveling suspension or headlight washers? Is it that Americans don't value these features and don't want to pay for them? Or does it have something to do with safety/certification/yadayada?
pachilla
Does anyone know why USDM Subarus don't offer self-leveling suspension or headlight washers? Is it that Americans don't value these features and don't want to pay for them? Or does it have something to do with safety/certification/yadayada? Since USDM Outbacks are manufactured locally they are being "localized" according to local market (your) preference. I suspect that the headlamp washers are standard with Legacy & Outback with HID headlamps, and since USDM Outbacks does not have HID so there is no washer nozzle. Not sure about why the self-leveling rear suspension is not on USDM models. Also I believe that starting from 07 or 08 the USDM Outbacks no longer come equipped aluminum hood and tailgate anymore (they are made of steel now, but don't quote me on that) Aluminum hood and tailgate are still standard on Euro-spec and JDM 08 models. The alloy wheel on USDM outback is unpainted but the Euro-Spec version has the same wheel painted so they look black-chromed. Neither USDM or Euro-Spec Legacy/Outbacks can have the JDM version's aluminum suspension and powered tailgate. But don't start crying yet. the USDM have the nice L.L. Bean trim package which is only available in US and Canada.

pachilla
Yeah...whereabouts is that B&B? http://www.whitesun.com.tw/ The White Sun B&B is where we spent the night, its a villa-style B&B, the house in the picture is actually the B&B next to White Sun which we also visited. Its has bigger rooms (obviously) for for bigger crowd. But White Sun is has better scenery with its gardened patio and stuff.

pachilla
Back up alarm on the rear bumper as well - that standard also? Nope, the dealer put them in for free, with installation. But these alarms costs $30-$50 USD in local shops. Installation is around $15-30 USD
LongHiway
Dealer put one on in my car as well, good to have in the city. I used to go to Taiwan often, spent some time in Taipei, Chungli and Ta-hsi.
