Timmeh Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Well I am a new owner of a Subaru Legacy got it for free has a blown head gasket just wanting to know how much the part would cost. Also would like to know how hard it would be to do this on my own in the driveway. Tim
Gasaraki Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Umm, the part is pretty cheap but the labor is tough. I totally doubt you can do it on your driveway. I'm also assuming this is older than the 2000 model year?
rjundi Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 The place to look is ultimatesubaru.org for info on how to proceed. I believe it is $200 in parts for proper revised ones (don't go aftermarket). You likely will have to send the head(s) out to a shop to check for warping and machining to proper spec.
