Soda Popinski Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 So one of the things the salesman tried to slide into the talk is that "If you wanted to, you could have the STi suspension installed into your 2.5 GT Limited... and you would essentially have a SpecB (with a 5EAT which I wanted). I thought, O RLY at the time, and now I wonder if it would have been worth the extra $1,200 they wanted for it. So I know I made a good deal on the car, but did I make a GREAT deal? http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u148/cherrybloom203/DiG%20Stuff/deal-or-no-deal.jpg
AKLGT Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 um no. first off, the STI suspension is different. If it weren't I'd have had a full STI suspension set up on the LGT a year ago for free. However, the Spec B suspension, though not as good as the STI suspension is much improved over the stock LGT. Even the Spec B springs are better (which I am running on my car currently). Perhaps he meant the SPT/STI pinks and bilstein struts? You can also add some aluminum control arms, sway bars, etc. If all you want is better suspension, than take a look at XenonK's sticky in the suspension forum and that will pretty much get you going. And really, a few parts suspension parts to your LGT does not make it a Spec. Just in the same way, doing an STI swap on my LGT did not make it an actual STI. Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah!!!
Blue GT Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Ya, no not really true, the idea i guess but no. I'm sure the deal you got is a good one.
rexster Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 As far as Subaru Of America is concerned, there is no STi suspension for the Legacy GT. They aren't willing to go through the cost of crash testing the JDM STi pink springs to be able to legally sell them on a new car. So I wonder what they planned on selling you...
