In today's Globe. They don't say Subaru online but do in the print version.

GLOUCESTER, Mass.—Sandra Bullock and her husband were unhurt after a head-on crash with a drunken driver, police said Saturday.

The actress and her husband, Jesse James of TV's "Monster Garage," were being driven in a sport-utility vehicle Friday night when a [subaru Forester] station wagon crossed the center line and hit them, said Gloucester police Lt. Jerry Cook. Both vehicles were totaled, but no one was hurt. The vehicles were traveling 15 to 20 mph, Cook said.

The other car was driven by Lucille Gatchell, who registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.20 percent, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent, Cook said.

This is the other driver, not Bullock.....

thats not bullock?
No, she has darker hair, and doesn't drive a Forester.

Hard drinking is not exactly unknown in Gloucester. To be able to stand up and blow a .20, you have to be working on a serious alcohol addiction.

I'm surprised she was conscious at .2
I dealt with this in the Army. Basically, anyone who is conscious at 0.2 is an Alcoholic. But I gave a breathalyzer to a guy who was perfectly coherent, volunteered to take the test before getting in his car, and blew a 0.22. He didn't get a DUI but his Commander got a report.....

Wow now that is someone who can hold their liquor, his liver however probably looks like a punching bag.

I commend the Forester...it took the hit for getting a large SUV off the road  I really don't even dislike SUVs, I just thought it would be funny.

How would you like to be issuing firearms and hand grenades to said person? I'm sure he was in the Army for about another week.

I love the quote at the end

"It's unfortunate. But it shows you that no one is immune from drunk drivers, no matter how famous you are."

That has to be the most ignorant ass thing I have heard in awhile.

It appears that that quote is from Gloucester Police Lieutenant Gerry Cook, and Sandra Bullock didn't say much of anything about the accident. I didn't think anyone thought their is a relationship between fame and drunk drivers, although there may indeed be something of a relationship between personal wealth and drunk drivers, as the wealthy are perhaps more likely to be spending a night out in places where drunk drivers congregate ?

Ahh i suppose you are right now that i look at it again.

Either way it was a silly statement.
