Sound Deadening FAQ

Sands

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to reduce road, wind and (other) vehicular noise.

:-)

I used a dynamat like material from HomeDept that is used on windows to seal them from water intrusion. Worked great and WAY cheaper. It has a metallic side and a butyl tape side. Dont know if this stuff would stick under the hood though as that gets so hot.

All of my doors stopped opening from an internal design flaw that I fixed and did this sound deadening at the same time.

It’s called roof flashing. I used it on my parents van and it deadens vibrations a bit. not sure how effective it was with sound absorbing though. There’s also debate about it giving off fumes on a hot day.

I just got new fender liners, so I’m going to add some of it on the top side.
