jimmy x Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I've heard and read lots of mixed reviews about clearing out headlights, but can't find a definite answer to wether if its illegal or not . I live in VA and want to do it to my LGT but heard that you'll get pulled over and fail state inspection. Is this true?
dmiller5 Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 the amber piece that is usually removed is a reflector. You are required by law to have a reflector in the front of your car. If it is the only reflector, and you remove it, that is illegal. Will you get pulled over, depends.
mr_luv Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I have been cleared since 98 in over all the time in all the cars I have had from Sandiego California, to Montgomery County MD and my clear corners have never been a Issue. Be clear and enjoy!!! Mr.350

SC GT Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 It's illegal in Cali, but it's never been an issue with me. I've been cited for no front license plate, but not for cleared headlights.
mr_luv Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Yea you will get pinched for sure with no front plate. It's illegal in Cali, but it's never been an issue with me. I've been cited for no front license plate, but not for cleared headlights. Mr.350
