mightyS Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 My Legacy is getting old. I just hit 50,000 miles on the way to work today. I've had it for 3.5 years so that is higher milage for its age. The good thing is I am driving 80% less to go to work with my new job. I am also going to enter it in a local car show this Saturday at Clemson, SC. It is their 1st show ever for their sports car club. I've been to car shows but I've never entered one. I have cleaned and detailed the inside. The Wolfgang plastic protectant is great. It leaves a clean matte finish, not a wet shinny look. Next is to clean the engine and wheels again. I'll wash it the morning of the show. I don't have a garage and there is lots of pollen in the air so if I wash it the day before, it will be covered in pollen by the next day. I'll take some pictures once I have it washed and at the car show.
Scotty Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Your application for the high mileage club has been denied. Average mileage per car per year is about 13,000 miles. You need to be over 100K miles to be in the high mileage club. Which a few of us are at with cars less than 3 years old.
lilrabbit129 Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 You're averaging about 1200 miles a month. Thats somewhat high but not too bad. Personally i'm doing 1900/month. So in 3.5 i'd be at 80k.
mightyS Posted April 20, 2008 Author Posted April 20, 2008 Well I made it to the car show on Saturday. It rained for the first hour! That was bad. Then it cleared and the sun came out. I had my towel with me so I cleaned it up again. I'll have my pictures tomorrow. Here is a link to many pictures of the cars that were there.http://good-times.webshots.com/album/563159503tYjjSB?start=0 As you can see, no love for the Legacy. The photographer took pictures of every car but mine He took pictures of old civics with added SI stickers, and that horrible Dodge nitro srt4, but no Legacy. I was the only Subaru entered too. A few STis came just for a few minutes but they left. Most of the people there were college kids. The older people had the british cars like the 1973 jag and the Mini coopers. A few of the college aged ones knew what the Legacy was. A 350zx one best of show as voted by the public. It has a paint job and a turbo kit. I wonder how long until it blows up the engine:rolleyes:
Xenonk Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 i'm at 80k for a car that isn't even 3 full years of ownership yet. I still have another 3 months to go before that happens. Keefe
hakgwai Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 i've had the car since sept. and i've got less than 4000 miles on it beat that
mightyS Posted April 21, 2008 Author Posted April 21, 2008 Pictures of my car at the show: http://clemsonscc.com/Gallery/mediaobjects/disp/f/f6_1.jpg http://clemsonscc.com/Gallery/mediaobjects/disp/9/9_8.jpg http://clemsonscc.com/Gallery/mediaobjects/disp/5/5_3.jpg http://clemsonscc.com/Gallery/mediaobjects/disp/d/d_5.jpg This is the cleanest my car has been since I bought it. Too bad it can't stay that way. Nope, it didn't win any awards, but I did win a free scca autocross racing weekend in the raffle. I've always wanted to try that.
mightyS Posted April 21, 2008 Author Posted April 21, 2008 Here is the best picture taken by another at the show. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f200/KBag87/CSCC%20Motorsports%20Fest/DSC_0130.jpg
