New owner, probably old questions

Greetings! I just got a 2005 LGT Automatic. It's bone stock and I'm wondering about the mods I've searched about (I searched first - haha).

 

Are there any gains in K&N panel, silencer removal, or a cone/tube intake. I read the stock setup is good for about 300HP, so I'm wondering.....

 

I see there's soooooo many pipe/cats on these beasts. Whats the best single mod for HP - uppipe, downpipe, catback? Has anyone removed one of the cats and still pass emissions?

 

Also read that you should pretty much get a reflash after any mod on these things - true?

 

Is a manual boost safe, as long as I get a boost gauge and go 1-3 above stock?

I was just reading the other threads - looks like I'll get the Cobb accessport. For the price and 'toy value' it's worth it IMO
