TPLGT
So I have been having some serious datalogging issues... http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85536 Some of you know all too well about these issues I have been having..thank you everyone, for your help...you have been great. Anyway, I can not datalog...I plan to keep trying but quite frankly, I am fed the F up! Anyway, the main reason I was trying to log is because my car was running like ass after a tune when I had Ecutek...then I scrapped the Ecutek and bot an AP....still ran like ass. Last week I reset the ECU and BAM! It runs like a champ. it must have been taxed from all of the flashes. I have been running the OTS Cobb Stage2 map and it is the balls. Sooooo much tq and it feels like a new car. The Tuner I am working with is going to hook me up w/ a custom MAP but wants some logs. Again, I am tired of the datalogging issues so I asked him to write me a map with similiar parameters to the Cobb. My question is how are OTS MAPs performing for others? I know TDC, Rallitek and PDX all make MAPS...do they do these w/o Logs? I figured that Cobb makes a nice OTS map, the other Tuners should be able to hook it up....even better. I know datalogging makes sense to see how the car is acting and I PLAN on getting it working but I just kinda wanted some opinions on OTS MAPs... Thanks for everyones patience and help with my 'issues'...I can certianly beat a dead horse. TP Rehab is for quitters.

itsme
Road tunes are IMHO the best. I had a TDC stage2 e-tune map and it didn't play well with my FMIC. Now I have a friend that helps me with self tuning. It's funny to see how subaru vary so much car to car with how they react to tuning. But, always datalog your car after you get a tune. I have seen some really bad datalog from "pro" tunes. Racer X FMIC for '05-'09 LGTs, '08+ WRX and '10+ LGT,'14+ FXT, and '15+ WRX TMIC Racerxengineering.com
Boostjunkie
Road tunes are great, but are not "the best". Tuning on the dyno allows me to see the small differences that AVCS timing, small AFR and timing changes make. I always take the cars I have tuned on the dyno out on the street to make sure that they are doing the same thing on the street that I saw on the dyno. In the process I avoid having to make repeated WOT runs on public streets. Let's face it, unless you live in the middle of nowhere street tuning isn't the safest thing in the world without even mentioning the risk of getting popped by the popo So in short, a combination of dyno tuning and light street tuning yield the best and most repeatable results. integroid
Yup, Scott Siegel usually oes the same thing. TUnes it on a Dyno then make small changes on the Street. TPLGT, I am sure there are plenty of folks in JAX that could help you out with logging your car. You just need to send Scott about 3 3rd gear pulls from 2500 RPMS to redline. Infamous1
Road tunes alone yeild the best repeatable results, dyno tuning is great for identifying small changes as the element is close to the same. But yes the combination of them both would be the best, as a dyno tune is nothing until proven on the street.

YEah...I need to get on Nabsico and ask the WRX/STI crew for help. I know a lof of the Legacy gang and I don't think any of them are tuned. I am just soooo fed up trying to get the Enginuity Logger working...also, driving BACK to ATL for a tuning day is not tops on my list of things to do either.... Rehab is for quitters.
