Topshelfs30 Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 I drive a 2008 LGT. I have searched the wheel noise thread. I dropped my car off because i noticed noise from front left weel. Squeaky noise while taking slow (less than 25mph) right hand turns. Scraping/scratching noise while going straight (noise reflects off objects, walls). While driving through a drive-thru, the sound reflected back to me sounded as if a plastic bag was stuck under the car when i inched forward. I got a call back from dealer and he said power steering fluid was low, so they topped it off. First of all, why would the steering fluid be low on an 08? -and if it is in fact steering fluid, why does it sound as if the wheel itself has a squeaky brake/ bearing problem? noise also happens while not turning. Second, if i can reproduce this noise, should i reference anything specific that he may be unaware of? Thanks a lot. Please respond soon.
harman.khinda Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 a few members have had issues with wheel bearings and I think the noise was speed dependent. but on an 08?
Beanboy Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Power steering is low on all LGTs from factory, why I don't know. -B http://www.standardshift.com
Topshelfs30 Posted April 16, 2008 Author Posted April 16, 2008 well, as usual.. noise would not show itself while i was driving the car with mechanic. So.. at this point, noisy wheel is just a "within specs" problem. It could be a warped rotor from stopping too fast. who knows.
