Legend Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 I just logged 3rd gear and logged vehicle speed, which I don't normally do. Ambient 52F, altitude "5300ft" (metro denver). I wanted a very level piece of ground but in actuality it was a very slight decline. 3rd gear WOT, 2k-6500rpm, times determined from Romraider logger. I have 18" wheels with snows so mph's might be 1% off but it doesn't mean much for this. Mods: Perrin catted DP, Titek UP, SPT CBE, Perrin TMIC, Romraider tune 50-80: 4.00s (in 4th gear it was 4.88s) 60-80: 2.77s 30-90: 8.77s (I like comparing this wide window since it captures spool/boost onset) My '05 LGT My '07 Supercharged Shelby
collegemt Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 John, Those look pretty good to me. I might have to try this and see what i get. I like the 30-90 time, i mean really you gained 60mph in under 9 sec, considering these cars do about a 6.8 second rolling 5-60, thats pretty fast.
praedet Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 I'll get mine up as soon as I get the retune on the new stuff
LittleBlueGT Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 I could give you some times, but that would only be at 740 feet. I think that timing things like this is pretty good, my times are very consistent over the same stretch of road. I have done it soo many times I know exactly what to expect. Helps to see if mods actually did anything. Full tune of 68HTA, KSTech 73 MAF, Racer X FMIC and ID1000s................by the DataLog Mafia!!!
Legend Posted April 14, 2008 Author Posted April 14, 2008 I could give you some times, but that would only be at 740 feet. Exactly the reason for starting this thread! My usual 3rd gear logging/tuning run is just a minute from my house. It's a kinda lumpy uphill climb, but I am starting clock times between rpms. I agree - it's nice to see the differences... amazing what just temp will do. I expect to be very strong among "Stage 2's", but it will be nice to see some other numbers... and I'll be curious to see what the upgraded turbos (praedet, mwiener, etc) are doing. collegemt Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Okay so here are my times: 3rd geard pull WOT altitude 5300ft, temp 66F Mods: Perrrin 2 piece catted D/P. AEM CAI, Magnaflow mufflers and resonator delete, TDC stg 2 e-tune, 17x7.5 konig feathers on stock tires. 50-80: 4.219 seconds 60-80: 2.922 seconds 30-90: 9.187 seconds
enthusiast Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Saving space until I get my FMIC and intake in. My mod list
Legend Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 Anybody do this lately? Think I'll go out and do this sometime soon. I'm trying to think of a way I could hang with the big boys... think maybe a rolling 5-50mph is about the best I could do. My '05 LGT My '07 Supercharged Shelby
05pearl Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Last logs for me - 55 deg, 5200' altitude, 3rd gear WOT starting at 40mph 50-80 3.6 60-80 2.4
johnAWD Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 If I had a logger I'd love to chime in. However being that I am such a cheap SOB and won't pay for a tactrix cable...
collegemt Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Last logs for me - 55 deg, 5200' altitude, 3rd gear WOT starting at 40mph 50-80 3.6 60-80 2.4 Nice numbers. What mods?
05pearl Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Thanks, I am running an LGT 20G deadbolt TD06-7cm, snow performance WI, AVO TMIC w/ an E85 tune.
collegemt Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 ^^very nice, you should take it to bandimere sometime. I bet you would be in the 12's.
05pearl Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I would like to do that, but I am sure my launch and shifting need some work. It's pretty easy to just floor it in 3rd gear .
collegemt Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 After a couple of runs, I am sure you will get the hang of it.
05pearl Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I saw the videos of your runs. Looks like a blast.
collegemt Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Its alot of fun. Do you have any problems with heat soak with the 20g and a TMIC.
05pearl Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Not with the water injection. I really did not want to do it at first, but now I am so glad I did. It really is easy and I hardly notice it at all. Just tapped the washer fluid tank and use -20 deg Peak wash fluid. I just top it off when I fill up with gas.
05pearl Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 30 degrees this morning and I could feel all four tires begin to break loose. I am beginning to enjoy this time of year.
collegemt Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Man, I wish I had a bigger turbo. I bet your car pulls really hard.
05pearl Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Jarrad at PDX has 6 more of his "secret turbos" in stock.
05pearl Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 $899, but you need a FMIC. Check this out (323/397), it looks like an awesome street turbo:
collegemt Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Those are some pretty sweet numbers. That is alot of torque, I am not sure if my clutch could handle it. So $899, for the turbo, $1000 for the FMIC, $600 for fuel upgrades, and $350 for a tune. roughly a $3000 setup. Not too bad, but it will definetly take some conviincing of the wife.
