tdoggydog Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 I can't figure out this website. It shows the only clips they have for the 08 Legacy go over the vents surrounding the nav/clamshell. I could swear I've seen them clipped onto the wood molding that runs down along the radio/hvac bezel. Trying to see if I can get a nice mount for a Parrot Bluetooth unit. Any help? http://www.proclipusa.com/home/home.aspx
AKLGT Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 apparently they do not offer the mount that goes on the side. Sorry Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah!!!
AKLGT Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Yes. But I bought it last year. I tried looking for the part again, but doesn't show up anymore. Wierd. I'm selling my Proclip set up and also the Subaru Parrot wiring harness since it does not fit in my 08 STI. Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah!!!
john_knoxville Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 this is what you want right here it will cover the vent only if you need to see the factory nav screen from the middle rear seat; but viewing from the driver's seat, you can move the clip over far enough that it will not obscure the vent nor your view of the screen if you are concerned that your parrot bluetooth will obscure the nav screen, they also sell extension plates that allow you to mount the device higher or lower i imagine they stopped selling the mount that glues to the side of the center stack b/c it invades the passenger's knee space and likely got knocked loose/broken on more than one occasion. the mount above is much more stable and does not get in the way btw, does ur state have a handsfree req'mt? after all, ur driving an auto. i would suggest 95% of the risk of driving while talking on a cell phone is due to driver distraction/lack of concentration, something handsfree won't correct

Keeping both hands on the steering wheel, however has. That does not mean that everyone can, and there are times that I get completely distracted, but it's never been from talking on the phone, more or less when I'm really tired and start to zone in and out. tdoggydog Posted April 14, 2008 Author Posted April 14, 2008 In CA beginning in June or July, for "mature" drivers we can use a hands free device - it's new teeny-bopper drivers that can't use a phone setup at all. Thanks for the info - I'll look into it! AKLGT - does your Pro Clip glue to the side of the center bezel? Or clip to it?
AKLGT Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 it's held on with 3M adhesive. I decided to buy the trim piece vs try and pry it off. Of course, the damn trim piece cost more than what I sold the ipod mount on my original trim piece! go figure! Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah!!!

tdoggydog Posted April 14, 2008 Author Posted April 14, 2008 Does this piece intrude too far into the footwell?
AKLGT Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 I never had an issue with mine really, but everyone is different. Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah!!!
eldiablo Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 I previously mounted my ProClip (for nano) to a kuda base. Worked well - not too intrusive into the passneger footwell. I recently changed my set up and removed the ProClip. If you're interstested in just the Proclip I can let you have it cheap. edit: just realized you're looking for clip for different device, but kuda base worth considering. My VB Garage... AKLGT Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 ahh.. that might be an idea... trying to find a mount for the 08 STI is impossible! Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah!!!
