01.GT.LimiteD Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 my front 2 rims get dirty every other day how can i keep them clean for longer than 2 weeks with out cleaning them?
aaronlee0821 Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 leaves a nice coat on top of the rims so that it'll help resist a lot of the brake dust. also makes cleaning easier. i always wax all my rims after i detail my car.
dmichaluk Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Stop using your brakes? It's your brake pads. Change to a low-dust pad if it's really bothering you. Just don't let that dust sit on your rims for long. It's corrosive.
azca Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 use the handbrake to stop the car instead of using brakes
collegemt Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 change your pads to Hawk HPS! Do the Hawk HPS pads leave less brake dust then the stockers? i always assumed that performance brake pads would result in inceased brake pad dust. maybe i was wrong.
GBY Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 use the handbrake to stop the car instead of using brakes I have a recurring nightmare about running into the car in front of me, this post didn't help.
azca Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 a built-in parachute attached to the back of the car can help. Or that SLR's spoiler that rises while braking to increase air friction. I have a recurring nightmare about running into the car in front of me, this post didn't help.
dmichaluk Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 I changed to Hawk HPS ~1 month after getting the car. I came from a Ford Focus SVT, and was very unhappy with the stock brakes. The Hawk pads helped alot, and there does seem to be less dust. They're a great brakepad.
whitetiger Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 the right pad choice will have very little dust.
