HighlineCA Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Are you repainting because of scratches and such? The paint we found (somewhat available at auto parts stores) is Duplicolor Med Gray Metallic # DSFM225. Here is the catch to this paint: you got to find the right one. Some come with a stickers on the side of the cap, others on the top. The one you are looking for will have a clean layout sticker on top of the cap. We found this out the hard way. The others do not even come close, and are heavily darker. If you cant find it, you could buy it from us (assuming I find it also). Its roughly $5 a can. Shipped.. maybe $10. Thanks, Rich @ HCA
harman.khinda Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 ^ thanks for the info my shift surround is scratched and nicked pretty badly. Should i just try to fill in the scratches applying as little paint as possible?

Thanks, Rich @ HCA Thanks for the tip! I've got an extra surround that's a little nicked up that I want to cut into to mount a Parrot controller, thus the need for the paint. So, the paint is good enough, and there is no need to apply clear coat, right?
HighlineCA Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 We do not apply clear on anything we paint. Just not necessary. The clear is up to you. Once the panel completely dries (a day or so) it will lighten/darken depending how thick and even your first few coats were. We accellerate the drying process with convection heat but still allow a full day after baking. Thanks, Rich @ HCA
