JoeFromPA Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Hi all, Was searching edgeracing to see what they offer for the Legacy GT. I had to enter in a 2005 LGT to find appropriate wheels, but whatever. Anyway, they offer the 17x8 5zigen F10RN-C (or whatever it is) for $150 a piece, with bundled tires starting around $800. Even with decent tires the pricing is good. It's a pretty simple wheel design, which I personally like, but it's a 17x8 that's relatively strong and good for everyday use by weighs only 17 pounds. Just figured I'd share this, as I'm a big fan of the 17x8 sizing and losing a few pounds over stock. Joe
enthusiast Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Thanks for the update JoeFromPA. That is pretty good pricing. My mod list
gianspi Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 nice... enough zip ties and duct tape will fix anything.
Mr. Ed Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 check ebay user discounttiredirect first... same wheels and tires cost me about 300 less than that, but they don't always have them. other than that edge has always had the best price.....
gianspi Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I found a good deal today too at discount tire. I think I like these a little more than the 5zigens. MB Weapon wheels 17x8 (19lbs I read) $136 per wheel 245/40/17 Kumho SPT $114 per tire +$1150 -$100 off wheel and tire coupon until march 31st -$100 off use discount tire card (can apply and used same day) ________________ $850 total mounted, balanced, road force tested and shipped enough zip ties and duct tape will fix anything.
enthusiast Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Those look really good on your car! My mod list
gianspi Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Not my car Just the only silver subaru I could find with those wheels to compare with my silver legacy. enough zip ties and duct tape will fix anything.
enthusiast Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 So when I go and look and select by using my car I only get the 17x7 max wheels. Did you use the other method to find those 17x8's? My mod list
praedet Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I usually just search for rims that fit a 2004 STi, and then I have to watch to make sure offsets aren't too low... A lot of sites don't let you run wider than OEM, which is 7" Here are my 5zigen's before some of my current mods meant I couldn't run them. I sometimes miss the bronze rims http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/praedet/5zigens/Picture%20Day%201/DSC00310.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/praedet/Suspension/Comparison/AfterHigh.jpg
bigfurniture Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 looks nice! was the wagon lowered when you took the pic?
gianspi Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Yes, if you search for 2004 STI you will get a lot of wide wheel selections. If you search for 2001 Impreza RS you will find a lot of 17s. enough zip ties and duct tape will fix anything.
Riggs Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/praedet/Suspension/Comparison/AfterHigh.jpg Those look awesome on the wagon. The 5 spokes look real clean.
Calcvictim Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 I used to run them on my WRX back when I had it, the wheels were good quality and I ran them year round. After a year paint started chipping on the "lip" , I am not sure whether I used the wrong cleaner or just the paint quality. Using some paint remover from home depot I had some custom wheels. Overall I would buy again. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v673/Calcvictim/03-07-05_1758.jpg
