brandonGT Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 right now i have a 3 in catless exhaust along with an AEM intake and perrin blow off valve. i am getting a little sick of the loud exhaust note, as well as the loud whoooshing and whistle of the turbo/intake/BOV. my question is will just putting on the stock mufflers on my current 3 in exhaust setup make the car quiet but still rumble? also, will i hear less noise from the turbo/intake/BOV? oh and how much power will just the mufflers cost me on a stage 2 lgt? thanks!
RdiggA Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 im not the most expierienced here but i would say JUST changing to stock mufflers wont do much. I would say change your BOV to maybe the perrin recirulating valve and maybe put your stock airbox back on with just the silencer removal that will take car of some of the wooshing from the intake and whistling from the BOV. You may loose a little power on the intake if your tuned for it, otherwise i dont think you would lose much. Hope i helped a little. -Rob
Mr. Ed Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 I alternate between catless, and no mufflers = all the above loud as hell scary..great for the track or scaring off the rice and the big tough diesels in town to catless to stck mufflers = faint noises from my aem intake and gfb bov and a nice little rumble ...good for my daily 80 mile commute
