Help me decide color

Recommended Posts

I am considering getting an 08' OBXT. Will be my first Subaru. I am having an issue with trying to decide on a color. I like the white with the tan interior but I am concerned the tan will get dirty easy becaus eof my active lifestyle with 2 kids and a dog. My wife and I try to stay active with them. Also, trying to decide on the black on black and the carcoal and black. I am conservative 31 year old with a successful business but am an outdoorsman as well. I go from one lifestyle making millions to another lifestyle doing whatever mother nature throws at me. So, can you list the disadvantages and advantages of my choices please. I am trying to buy but finding myself dragging my feet becaus I don't want to regret making a simple mistake.

Also, my brother whom is a rich snob driving a $80,000 BMW says I should not buy the OB because only libeals and hippies drive them. I think this is funny because I am neither. Actually I am a southern boy. Thanks Y'all.

Well, if I made millions I would not have purchased my Outback XT. I would own a truck dedicated for weekend outdoor activities and a high performance luxury sedan as my daily driver.

However, reality dictates otherwise so I decided on the XT. I have 2 kids and a dark interior is a must. For me, that ruled out the L.L. Bean and all of the colors that come with the tan interior. I chose Quartz Silver and I like it.

Black interior will show dirt worse then the tan. if that is a concern then go with the tan interior.

This is the worst piece of advice ever.

Black interior is way better at staying newer and hiding stains longer.

We have a 05 with black interior and an 04 with tan. Black interior shows dirt much more then the tan. I suppose it depends on what you plan on getting on the car. You mentioned 2 kids and a dog. A grape juice stain would obviously hide better in a dark interior.dirt your dog tracks in would hide well in a tan interior though.

heightsgtltd, You still upset because I didn't give you any love?:wub::lol:

lol the black interior is all about hiding the stains you can't get out. The tan interior is for hiding the ones you can (e.g. dirt, mud).

As for color since Garnet Red Metallic is no longer offered :( I'd go Diamond Gray Metallic with the black interior. I'll always choose a silver over black or white. Silver still looks classy but hides dirt better and doesn't get as hot as black in the summer.

The Ridiculousness is no more :( But you can have your very own piece of it. **The Ridiculous Part Out.** :D

Let me rephrase. My business makes millions with lots of overhead. I personally do not make m illions. My business brings in about 5 mill a year whereas I may take home 2% of that.

I am a Nigerian senior civil servant seeking a reputable foreign company into whose account I can deposit funds totalling $10million, which the Nigerian government overpaid on a procurement contract.

Can you list the disadvantages and advantages of my choices please.

+1.

AA- Black not hiding dirt well? C'mon, throw some toddlers in the back seat for 3 years and get back to me.

Unless you are talking about tan-coloured crackers and lint, then I guess you have a point.

Your brother is f#cked in the head, and he's going to criticize whatever you buy.

PS I thought only Yankees spelled it y'all?

Dark Grey Metallic all the way...its what I wanted and they couldn't find me one in a Legacy (didn't want an Outback)

I have an 07 Newport Blue wagon w/the tan use to have 05 sedan Black w/Black interior.

The Black hides everything and much easier to clean...the taupe almost white looks great clean but keeping it clean is another thing.

The seat will require constant cleaning and conditioning due to just rub off from your pants and coat. This winter mine went from taupe to a tint of black/blue only noticeable by me probably...then around your feet is another story!

In the rear I have the cargo mat in back but still the back of the seats and wheels wells will get marked up if you use it like I do and it sounds like you do. The dog jumps in back often but I now carry him from the house to the car in case he runs thru something or its raining...and I bought the wagon so I could throw my bike in the back which I do 3 times a week...I am getting a roof rack now because I am tired of being so careful and pissed off when I get a tire rub mark or chain grease stain.

I luckly have a good car wash by my office and get the interior shampoo'd often at 22 bucks a pop...its only a year old and I am afraid what it'll look like after another couple Chicago winters.

Taupe looks great clean like a black car...a black car is easier to keep clean though...particuarly with kids, a dog, and an active lifestyle.

Make sure to get he cargo mat and dog fence....it'll make he dog trips much better.

Lastly if you get the XT tell your brother that negates you from the liberal hippy stereotype...after he rides in it he'll understand

Good luck!

As a Porsche fanboy/owner I would recommend buying a Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

1. 0-60mph in less than 5 secs

2. Best handling SUV you will ever drive

2. Decent off road ability

4. Built like a tank

5. Luxurious interior

6. AND YOU WILL HAVE MUCH BETTER BRAND SNOBBERY THAN YOUR BROTHER'S LOWLY BMW!!:rolleyes:

ps: If this post was serious then I go for DGM.
