Painting Plastic

I need to touch up a couple of my engine caps that don't have direct replacements (including the top of the oil dipstick, radiator fluid cap, etc)

What is the best paint to use for flexible plastic, if any?

any paint you find at your local parts store will be fine for stuff like that. the big must do is making sure you prep it how the can tells you to do it, all the oil has to be off it and if you have chips in the paint that is there to knock down the hard edge with scotchbright or some 400-600 grit paper. plastic HAS to be clean to get paint to stay on it.

^ right, I will just take one of the Mr Clean magic erasers to it before I paint, I will probably throw some adhesion promoter on it as well before I paint it....

Last time I had to paint an automotive plastic part, the paint shop where I ordered my paint (to a specific paint color code) provided an addative to either keep the paint elastic or for adheasion... It was back in the 80's so im not quite sure...:spin:
