Guest Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 that looks like a 3.0R had some excess left they could not sell to public...
Vimy101 Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 specb's, vimy would be proud i could give a shit I'm famous.
Vimy101 Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 In your own special way Of course. Spec.B = "Special Better" (a Japanese "English" thing).
NateWA Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 They have 2.5 GTs somewhere in Washington State as unmarked cars. Anybody know if they do anything to them performance wise?
Vimy101 Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 They have 2.5 GTs somewhere in Washington State as unmarked cars. Anybody know if they do anything to them performance wise? That's why Lafayette went with the Spec.B. No mods necessary.
ehsnils Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 And in Norway I have seen the Police (In Norwegian Politi, http://www.politi.no) using Foresters. (A few years ago at least).
05GT Guru Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Around here where people race there is an unmarked Bug Eye WRX and 2 02 Z28s that wait for people to race.
flakeyblakee Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Has Subaru changed the wheels? My friend pickced up an 08 GT Saturday and it has those same wheels.
Bbc84 Posted March 9, 2008 Author Posted March 9, 2008 Its the 3.0 H6, not spec B. I doubt they would give cops a manual car. Theres too much crap going on in the cabin for them to have a stick car. Laptop, radar, radio, lights, etc. And probably not all cops can drive stick as well.
Richard B. Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 They have 2.5 GTs somewhere in Washington State as unmarked cars. Anybody know if they do anything to them performance wise? oh man... if i were a cop/hgwy patrol...i would exceed a monthly quota in one day. throw some people in jail for some of the crap they do around me.
NateWA Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 The ones in washington are black and unmarked dont know much else. I saw it in an issue of subiesport.
tdoggydog Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Sweet - so now us 3.0R owners have the equivalent of a Crown Vic? Or now a Charger?
Tommyh Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 The ones in washington are black and unmarked dont know much else. I saw it in an issue of subiesport. I saw it in person the other day just off base. It had pulled the pizza dude over. ...I really should post that in the spotted thread... Martin Luther - "Who loves not women, wine and song remains a fool his whole life long." EL4NFZT7
Gmoe Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Has Subaru changed the wheels? My friend pickced up an 08 GT Saturday and it has those same wheels. I think if you looked at your friends wheels again, you'd realize they aren't quite the same. That's a 3.0R for sure, or, they put 3.0R wheels on it, or your friends GT.
Brady Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 3.0R http://burnedimage.afraid.org/lgt/lpd.jpg (not sure if image is going to work) http://www.jconline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080206/NEWS/802060331 SIA donates car to Lafayette police Subaru of Indiana Automotive donated a vehicle to the Lafayette Police Department Tuesday fulfilling a promise the company made several months ago. The vehicle, a 2008 Subaru Legacy, has been outfitted to look like other LPD cars and will be used by the department's school resource officer, LPD Chief Don Roush said. Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski said SIA was going to donate it to the city and city officials determined it would be best used by the LPD. "It will be out at our school and people will see it," Roswarski said. "I think we've created a good business environment here in our community... and the business community tries to give back."
Brady Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Seeing as how the police are among the best trained drivers in the country and many have racing backgrounds, I'm sure they could handle a stick.     :breathe:      Do you really believe what you just wrote?
