Official MY2005 production numbers by model & color

I saw a RBP 2005 GT Wagon in Des Moines about 8-10 months ago, on gold OZ wheels...

But I am not sure if it was a MT or Limited... I only saw the back of the car, as I followed along the same street for a little while.

I had just bought a saw from sears, and couldn't fit the box into the trunk, so it was in the back seat... I was really diggin' the wagon that day, trying to convince my wife, who hates wagons, categorically.

I got a great deal on a 5.3 cubic foot floor-model freezer at Lowes today. I forgot that I had my dog guard in, so I wasn't gonna be able to slide it in over the folded rear seats. I had taken my F-250 in for service today, so that wasn't an option.

Didn't matter. Amazingly enough, I was able to put the freezer in sideways and still close the hatch on the wagon.

Wagons rock!! ;)

Your LGTLW was made in the SIA plant in Indiana, and sold in Hawaii, so if it's got taupe leather interior, then it's one of the 61. Can't speak to the SpecB #s.

Wow, I've been looking for these numbers for some time. Even emailed Subaru for them without success.

108.....OBP.....2005 Legacy GT wagon MT Ltd (blk)

112.....OBP.....2005 Legacy GT wagon MT Ltd (tan) mine

I performed some estimates a long time ago and came up with ~30 ('05 LGT lmt mt blk ext and both blk and tan int). Where I think my estimate went off was with the MT and the black exterior. Most US manufacturers that offer MT in non-sportscars, production is ~10%. Also, most other manufacturers only paint 9-10% of their cars black.

Still, only 112 twins of my car is still fairly rare. :)

Yes, IIRC 31% of LGT sedans were MT and 29% of LGT wagons were MT, too!

Unclemat,

Can u post the 2006 info you have please?

And would a car built in 12.05 be considered a 2006 model year(My car is a 2006 I just want to know from a production basis how they would count it)

Thanks for the help if you can.

Hey guys,

I am looking speciffically for a pal and with the 2005 numbers I am a bit confused.

He has a 2006 2.5I SE. Where would that fall in the production numbers? Would it fall under the Unlimited trim or would it say SE? Or better yet soes anyone know hoe many 2006 2.5I SE ABP manuals were made? Sedan only please.

Thank you.

I have access to data from which I could get production numbers for all 05-08 model years. It's a lot of work to get that info though, so it will be a while before I find time to do that.

Amazing what I've been finding since I stopped being on an IV to Turbo Powertrains.

When I had my AT 05 Legacy 2.5GT GRP unlimited I think I may have seen another one in four years, but never considered it was because the production numbers were that low. I figured it was living here in BFE, though I do get out of my backyard occasionally. I saw a couple of Limited ones, but ever since I got the first one in Charleston in Sept of 04 it was obvious there weren't many GTs around, of any kind. Now I see why.

When I got the 2009 RRP Legacy 3.0R Limited I figured it might have low production but no matter where I search I can't find numbers. Now that I've found this thread I know that somewhere, however, they exist. Not that it actually impacts value or anything.... never saw ANY Leggy on Barrett Jackson, for example. Not that I'm going to stick it in a garage for the future like a friend did back in the 70's with his 4500mi Shelby 427 Cobra. And he had too much money then.

It does add another facet to ownership, knowing how many like YOU are out there. I don't even know when model year numbers start and end for these cars. I'd even drive to Lafayette and ask someone at the factory/assembly plant if I knew who to ask. Nice trip.

Unclemat, any guidance for me here, finding production numbers for my new car??
