legacy2.5GT05 Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 I've heard mixed things about this dealership on Van Nuys. I'm leaving for San Mateo tomorrow for hot import nights at 11am. I called Subaru Sherman Oaks today and they said they can get me in at 9a and have me out by 11. I need new front brake pads really bad. My whole front end including steering wheel shakes when braking going downhill. I love how I wait till the last minute to do everything but they honestly started getting really horrible.. today.. the day before a 5 hour trip north. :sigh: Can I trust that Sherman Oaks will do a decent job? I wanted to get the Hawk HPS pads for the front, but don't have the time just have to go with OEM I guess. I spoke with John the owner and he said it would cost somewhere between 140-190 for the job.
RezaLaleh Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 There Service department is actually pretty good. Try them out and let us know... Good Luck... SubaruBoxer.com

What exactly was wrong w/ your car and how many miles do you have? I'm coming up on 36,000 real quick and (not that I want to curse myself) getting worried that something will go wrong as soon as I go over that mark! So far my snow express has been trusty & hasn't given me any problems...knock on wood.
spiralsmurf Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 46000 miles, i'm yet to find out the actual problem, but there is a new reverse idle and drive gear in my tranny and the rest of the tranny was supposedly inspected so i'm quite curious to see what is the actual problem. i'll tell you that my clutch and flywheel were totally fried at 46k.
cfdrumr Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 I was by there today to schedule an appointment. Their facilities are REALLY nice.

Hahaha I know you picked up your car used but I'm sure you have been having lots of fun with it! I thought the warranty on our cars expires @ 36,000? Maybe you bought the extended warranty. My clutch has been holding up pretty good (knock on wood), of course I never launch aggressively i.e. no 6000 rpm hammer drop or anything like that. I'm mainly concerned about stupid little things like weatherstrip or interior fittings coming off that'd end up costing me some ridiculous amount to replace.
spiralsmurf Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 this is being covered by powertrain warranty which is 5/60k
