Tuning AFR's in Colorado

I just finished scaling my intake (STOCK intake and yes it needed some scaling) and am now ready to tweak my AFR's.

To those of you with WBO2's (or otherwise in the know), what are your WOT AFR's? What scheme would you suggest for a basic stage II LGT using Shell 91 octane? I want to keep it safe but don't want to sell myself short on power either.

Currently at WOT I am targeting 12.5 AFR's as boost builds, 10.8-11.0 after that.

What's up John.

I was wondering the same thing, I am not sure what a safe AFR is. On my Accessport guage I am at 11 AFR WOT at full boost. Not sure how accurate this guage is though. I should be getting a TDC map tuned for my setup anyday and i will let you know what i get after that.

Glad to see you are keeping after modding your girlfriend's car. Keep pushing that '08. Bet she appreciates it too. Anyhow, I asked the same question on awdpirates.net and no response there yet.

I've never had an accessport but if it has an AFR gauge it can't be accurate at WOT. It is probably just reading the stock front 02 sensor, which can't read below 11.02. Not accurate at all (unless cruising or idling). That's probably why it looks like you are running flat 11's at WOT but my guess is that you are all over the 10's.

Who's got a say in this? Revolutions? Praedet? Servion? Mwiener?

Actually wife, so we both pay for it and even though she dirves it to work everydayi can still call it mine/ours. LOL.

So from what i understand the lower the AFR, the richer it is, so probably no damage going on, correct?

I am sure someone will chime in soon, with more knowledge base in this area.

Wife, okay, :), whoops. I'm just a little ahead of you on the learning curve as I've only been into tuning and Subarus for 6 months... Yes, lower AFR is richer. Your WOT AFR is probably low-mid 10's if your tune is anything like mine and/or stock. If you were way too rich into the low 9's then there are problems there (bore wash), but really doubt you are there either.

Yes... waiting for input from the pro's and/or pseudo-pro's.

OP, it sounds like you are asking what a good redline AFR is for your fuel type.

In WA and CA, I target around 10.8-11.0. We get 91-92 octane type fuel. It sounds similar to what you guys get.

Everything I've read says that 12 or more AFR is very agressive for our rides.

12.5 is not too bad as long as rpm < 3000 and load is low.

My question pertains more to the fuel we use in metro Denver rather than the altitude. I'm curious to know what some of the tuners/tunes are targeting with 91 octane (including winter E10 blend).

I am planning on doing 10.8-11 above 3000 rpms, w/ the 12.5 below at low load. I will shoot you my AFR table once I get it worked out if you want...

I will have some time to work on this soon again. The blue line is my last WOT 3rd gear run 2krpm-6600 or so. (I haven't really been tuning fuel yet, just scaling MAF so pardon the big lean bump.... and the general lumpiness) The orange line is what I'll be shooting for. Basically I'll be shooting for a flatlined WOT AFR between 11.01-11.1 between ~4300-6300rpm. Approaching redline I am fine tapering down to 10.8.

Look alright?
